Instant Road Repair 6mm, fine grade cold lay instant tarmac is ready to use straight from the bucket. Simply pour into the hole, compact and go! Use in combination with SCJ Cold Joint Spray to prevent water ingress and create a permanent pot hole repair!

UltraCrete Instant Road Repair 6mm grade is designed for permanent repairs to tarmac in footways, footpaths and cycle tracks. It was HAPAS Approved in 2002, and is instantly trafficable causing minimal disruption to pedestrians. IRR 6mm is the ideal solution for quickly filling potholes, when used in conjunction with SCJ Cold Joint Spray it forms an impenetrable repair that stops water ingress and prolongs the life of your pothole repair. Use in conjunction with UltraCrete’s HAPAS approved SCJ Cold Joint Spray for a complete reinstatement system which can save you vital time and money!

Ultracrete SCJ Cold Joint Spray is a sealer applied onto the vertical edges & surface base of a pothole before the application of cold lay tarmac or asphalt. SCJ prevents water ingress which improves the bond and prolongs the life of the pothole repair. Use Instant Road Repair together with SCJ Cold Joint Spray to form a perfect bond which stops water ingress in its tracks.

  • Suitable for permanent pothole repairs

  • Recommended for us with SCJ Seal and Tack spray for a permanent repair
  • Depth: 15 – 100mm
  • Resealable buckets – so no waste
  • Approved for use on the London Underground and Overground
  • Satisfactory for use as a PCSM in accordance with Appendix A2.4 of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 : Specification for the Reinstatement of Openings in Highways (SROH)
  • Size: 25kg plastic bucket (bags available)
  • Shelf Life: 6 months from date of manufacture in sealed units. Once opened, all material should be used up. (DOM usually found on the lid or side of tub or bag for queries please call 0330 122 1025).

How do I apply Instant Road Repair 6mm for a Pothole Repair?

  1. Ensure area is clean from debris
  2. Seal the pothole edges and substrate using UltraCrete SCJ
  3. Fill in hole with Instant Road Repair 6mm
  4. Tamp down

How do I apply IRR 6mm and SCJ Cold Joint Spray for first time permanent repairs?

  1. Saw cut a ‘picture frame’ around the repair or reinstatement area.
  2. Ensure the area is clear of debris.
  3. Seal vertical edges and substrate with UltraCrete SCJ. Reinstatements requiring up to 60mm in depth can be achieved by using the layer-on-layer method.
  4. Apply the product to a depth of approximately 45mm and compact to 30mm in order to achieve your first layer.
  5. Re-apply SCJ Cold Joint Spray to vertical edges before a second layer of Instant Road Repair 6mm is applied.
  6. Repeat step 4 to achieve the 60mm depth.
Please Note: All compaction should be carried out in accordance with Appendix 8 of the SROH* 2010. If over-banding is required, apply UltraCrete Instaband ECO.
